Deployment:
In an emergency during daylight hours, securely attach the distress flag to a visible, elevated location on your vessel, such as a mast, pole, or antenna. The flag should be tethered to prevent loss but allowed to move freely enough to attract attention.
If mounting is not possible, wave the flag manually to signal for help. Use in combination with other signaling devices when available.
